With a unique combination of eleven years academic experience in media studies, with two M.A. degrees from UCLA and the Elliott School of International Affairs in Washington, D.C., Darren enjoys competitive publicity analysis, writing and media pitching. As former Editor and Publisher of The West Coast PR Newsletter, he spent four years testing and comparing PR services. This has led directly to 'best-of-breed' use of third party vendors from media data suppliers to clipping services to online newsrooms.


Timothy Williams, Managing Director, Costa Rica

Mr. Williams, a resident of Costa Rica, has extensive experience in international business and global marketing management. Residing in the Central American paradise of Costa Rica for the past several years, Tim brings his experience in large-scale corporate marketing management to the Pop Culture group of companies. Tim has managed multi-million dollar marketing budgets for some of the Internet's most profitable companies, and is considered an expert resource in the areas of Brand Marketing, Media Planning, Marketing Analytics, Online Marketing, and Media Relations.

Prior to joining the Pop Culture group of companies, Mr. Williams most recently served as a Senior Brand Manager with London-traded Sportingbet PLC, the world's largest online gaming company and operator of some of the most successful brands in the space including Sportsbook.com and Paradise Poker. Prior to Sportingbet PLC, Mr. Williams served as Marketing Director for Betmaker.com.

Mr. Williams is responsible for the 2006 launch of Pop Culture 2020, the first international branch office of Pop Culture Public Relations, headquarted in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Terena Thyne is a former magazine editor and travel, lifestyle, and financial services publicity executive who understands publicity from multiple points of view. She began her career in Denver, Colorado at Russel, Karsh, and Hagan, working on national accounts like Philip Morris, TCI, and Total/Ultramar Diamond. She has lived and worked in Singapore, London, and Tokyo, working on PR campaigns for Kenzo, Hyatt hotels and the 'Mphosis clothing line.
